Fuse Modular Uses 1x2 rectangles. The 30 piece version is shown here. Date/Time: Sat Jun 9 15:57:55 2007 This module starts out as a 1x2 rectangle and ends up looking like a sonobe with 2 diamonds! As a result, it can be used to make any of the normal sonobe geometric solids. The joining is a little tricky, but I expect to be able to teach the 12 piece octahedron. More advanced students can try the 30 piece variation.
30 Piece Ornament Easy folding and interlocking system. Moderately challenging assembly. Date/Time: Tue Jun 12 12:30:07 2007 The pieces are not at all difficult to fold, but 30 pieces do take some time! You will leave with a fairly quick, impressive, and beautiful gift item for any occasion. If anyone knows who created this model, please tell me!

I'll be teaching the units used to make this quilt and hopefully we'll complete a new quilt with a different shape and color scheme at the convention!

Three Dollar Flower, opus 488 Designed by Robert J. Lang Date/Time: Mon Feb 12 16:45:29 2007 You may have seen this model at last year's Convention on Robert J. Lang's exhibit table. It's an ingenious and elegant flower made from three U.S. bills. Truncated Rhombic Triacontahedron Date: 2007/05/23 Model is folded from 30 squares. The shape is extremely spherical and holds together very rigidly. The geometric shape is composed of 12 pentagons and 30 hexagons (though the model is dimpled on the pentagons). The hexagons are golden rhombuses with the acute corners cut off, therefore they are irregular (you can see proof of this because corners with 3 hexagons meeting are not flat).
Class length will be 2 hours.

Icosahedron Plus This is a very flexible unit which makes a **sweet** icosahedron from 10 units. Date/Time: Thu May 3 08:39:08 2007 This is a unit, folded from a square, based on equilateral triangles. But it does a really nice job making any polyhedron with equilateral triangles for faces. Two units make a tetrahedron. Four make an octahedron. Ten make an icosahedron, which feels really nice! Six units make a snub disphenoid. There's all sorts of things you can make with this unit! (And there's some cool math involved too!)
Rhombic Dodecahedron Unit 12 units make a nice rhombic dodecahedron ... and more! Date/Time: Mon Dec 4 09:17:27 2006 This is a versatile modular unit. 12 units make a nice rhombic dodecahedron (left picture). 12 units can also make a spiked octahedron (center picture), and many other interesting shapes can also be made (like the right picture). This will be a high intermediate level class.
