Expanding Polyhedron Frog Unit
This modular model expands and contracts from a cuboctahedron shape to an octahedron skeleton...
Date/Time: Sun May 28 10:06:51 2006
This model is an attempt at kinetic modular origami. It's a slightly deformed cuboctahedron (the square faces have been folded along the diagonal a bit) which collapses into the skeleton of an octahedron. The locking mechanism is very strong and the transformation motion is quite nice. (Although it takes some doing to pry the octahedron skeleton apart once it's collapsed.) Each unit, before being assembled, looks kind of like a frog head (not shown in the picture), which explains the strange name I gave the unit. I'm still exploring what other structures can be made with this unit and how well they flex. I'll present my discoveries in the class. This will be a high-intermediate level class.
Triangular Dish
This is an unpublished high-intermediate triangular dish by Philip Shen.
Date/Time: Mon May 1 21:33:31 2006
I will be teaching this high-intermediate triangular dish by Philip Shen. The model is previously unpublished. This model begins with an equilateral triangle. As with most of Shen's folds, we spend some time doing precreasing to begin with, and then collapse it all into this well-locked dish. The outcome is curved and pleasing to the eye.
Flower Basket
This is an intermediate, unpublished, flower basket by Philip Shen.
Date/Time: Sat Mar 4 11:59:38 2006
I will be teaching this intermediate flower basket by Philip Shen. The model is previously unpublished. Unlike many of his other models, this model is not of a geometric nature. The folding sequence is a nice one, and the lock to get the handle to stay together is quite clever. This model is folded from a 6" square.
Pig or cochon
M. Piggy created by Stephane Ansons
Date/Time: Sun Feb 19 16:56:04 2006
This is a pig created by folding a series of squares and rectangles. There is both a closed and open sink required so familiarity with sinks (not the kitchen variety) will be necessary.
I will be supplying the paper which is a neon bond paper cut into an 8.5" square.

Date/Time: Sun Jun 4 21:28:48 2006
I am teaching this LI model of a rose that just took shape as I was playing with paper. Like other more complex rose models, my rose requires some shaping. This model is folded from a 6" duo-colored square. It has not been diagrammed, but I hope to provide folding instructions during class.

designed and taught by Jeannine Mosely
Date/Time: Wed Jun 14 12:25:00 2006
This is an improved version of my original Pulsar action model. It is made from fewer pieces (48 instead of 72) and the locks on the joints are much stronger. No glue needed. The class will be taught in 2 one hour sessions, one on Saturday where we learn to fold the units and the other on Sunday when we learn the assembly.

Deb Pun Discoe will be teaching this stylized Angel. String it from a delicate organza ribbon and it's a perfect gift for the holiday season. I folded this angle from a thick vellum-like paper with a pearlized silver sheen to it. You can make the angel 3-D with a clever lock at the bottom of the angel's robe.

Japanese Dancing Girl or Maiko-san (geisha-in-training). This high-intermediate flat model requires high level of precise folding. Eight Point Star

Mobile Dragon
A nice two piece dragon
Date: 2006/06/18
Anita's two piece dragon is intended to be hung from a mobile (hence the name). I put a crimp in the foot so that it would stand up. The paper is custom made tissue foil, made by Kathy S. (look for more of her paper at the Gold Mine Auction!)
Multi-Headed Neale Dragon
Multi-Headed Neale Dragon
Date: 2006/06/19
Joseph has worked out a way to add multiple heads (and tails) to the Neale dragon. No glue needed! I've only shown a three-headed version here. I've seen up to five heads. Beyound that I don't know how much the bulk of the paper will limit the number of heads.
I rated this High Intermediate because of the difficulty of the locks (unless you use glue, eeech) and the time it takes to detail all the appendages.

Little Bird from a square
Little Bird
Date: 2006/06/20
I first found the diagrams for the Little Bird in an old Tanteidan newsletter. Later I found them in Oru #2. It is a really neat model to fold. I did a bunch of them as Holiday presents for the office. I took them as presents for everyone at the Origami Deutshland convention and sent some more to the Polish Convention. It is such a life like model.
Squirrel
the definitive Squirrel model IMHO
Date: 2006/06/20
This Squirrel model works well as a wet fold or in tissue foil. I have been folding it for over 25 years and it remains a favorite. It is from a 4X1 rectangle. The diagrams are found in the BOS Max Hulme Selected Works 1973- 1979; #15
